Joseph Ripp (MBA) has been named CEO of Time Inc., which is currently spinning off into a separate company from Time Warner. Most recently CEO of OneSource Information Services Inc., Ripp was previously CFO of Time Warner, having spent 20 years with the company in various executive roles, including senior VP of Time Inc.

CPA Eliot Goldberg (MBA) has joined Grassi & Co. as tax principal, working out of the firm’s Manhattan office. He was previously a director with D.E. Shaw & Co., LP. Deborah Jurek-Downie has been hired as director of business development at First Financial Federal Credit Union in Wall, N.J. Previously she founded the Two River Women in Business Consortium in Red Bank. Izzy and Ariela (’84) Schiller started a website called CourtAlert.com, which provides details about important cases and court information occurring in New York State, Delaware, and California.

Stathis Antonakopoulos’s Mediterranean-themed eatery on 23rd Street, STIX, welcomed the Baruch Young Alumni Network (BYAN) in September for its first Third Tuesday networking/socializing event of 2013-14. Launched in 2006, BYAN offers social and professional networking opportunities for alumni from the 1990s to the present. The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants reappointed Michael L. Kraten to serve as a member of its advisory council for 2013-14. Yuk (Ann) Li retired from AT&T in September after 29 years of service. She was the senior technical director for IT Corporate Systems. Atlas Group CEO Leon Shivamber participated in Baruch’s Class Act campaign by naming a classroom—Room 9-175 in the Newman Vertical Campus—in honor of his mother and grandmother, Rosa and Princess Kowlessar.

King, who worked at Rodman & Renshaw LLC and Dawson James Securities Inc. last year before joining JMP Securities in late December, was ranked #1 in the pharmaceuticals industry.
